Department Of Bio-Technology
The Department of Bio-Technology was started in the self-financing stream of the College in June 2008. It offers the 3-year programme B.Sc from the academic year 2008-09. The HOD of the PG Zoology Department is also the HOD of the B.Sc Bio-technology programmme.
Objectives & Mission:
- To design and update the curriculum, bearing in mind the relevance to regional and national requirements and expectations.
- To equip the students with the basic skills in biotechnology
- To impart quality education in the field of biotechnologylogy, enabling our students to confidently face the job market.
- To inculcate the spirit of scientific temper in the minds of the students.
Courses Offered:
The Dept of Bio-technology was established in the year 2008-09. It offers 3 –year B.Sc in Bio-technology
Course Highlights:
The Department carefully adopted new approaches in curriculum planning. The revised syllabus under CBCS incorporates the study of basic core papers along with specialized papers. Laboratory work is given equal importance. The students have to undertake a project work in the fourth semester.
Laboratory:
The Laboratory of the department is well equipped with multiple instruments for regular class work and many research facilities.
Students Club:
The students are motivated to participate in various competitions to bring out their talents.
